Georgia men�s basketball swept Virginia 63-56 Saturday night to clinch a berth in the ACC Tournament.
The Bulldogs (11-2, 6-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) opened their ACC Tournament slate with a 96-78 win over No. 8 seed North Carolina on Friday night.
Georgia coach John Collins made six 3-pointers, including two 3s from the corner of the arc.
Georgia shot a season-high 39.7 percent from the field and shot 12-of-16 from the free-throw line.
It’s the second consecutive game the Bulldogs have shot over 50 percent from beyond the arc and the third time in four games they’ve scored at least 20 points in each contest.
Collins led the way with 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
He also had six steals.
Freshman center Jordan Johnson scored 14 points, but had three rebounds, two assists and four steals.
Johnson had 17 points and 10 rebounds for Georgia, which has won three straight in the series.
The ACC Tournament is played in three rounds, and the first round is set for June 26 at Fordham University in New York.
The second round is June 26 in Orlando, Fla.
The Cavaliers are looking for their third win in four ACC Tournament games.
They beat No. 1 seed Syracuse 66-52 on Friday.
