The Badgers are also the only team in the country that is in the NCAA Tournament.
Now, they need to show they can win the Big Ten Championship.
But the team needs to be better in other ways.
One of those things is getting better players.
Coach Kevin O’Connor is excited to see the team in action and said he is hoping to see more of the players he’s coached in the last two years.
“I know that we need to continue to make progress,” he said.
“We need to be able to take some of our good players and bring them to the next level.”
Coach O’Connors plans to make a big splash with the 2017-18 season.
He says he has more players in mind for the Badgers to compete for the Big 10 Championship.
The Big Ten is the only conference without a Final Four and is known for a low-scoring season.
“We have a lot of good players,” O’Reilly said.
“The Big Ten doesn’t have a Final Fours.
The conference has really high scoring teams, so it would be good to have some of those guys play at that level.”
Players that O’Brien thinks can be successful on the national level are point guard Austin Rivers, forward Travis Zajac, forward Michael Young, guard Nick Burdi, guard Justin Anderson, guard Kyle Murphy and guard Jaren Jackson.
“They have all the tools to be great players,” he added.
“It’s a good group of guys that we can look at.”
