The North Carolina State basketball program has announced that five players have been ruled out for their respective games against Florida State and Duke, and four players have received non-contact injuries.
Freshman guard James Young is expected to miss at least three weeks with a back injury, according to a source.
He had surgery last week and will undergo an MRI, the source said.
Junior guard Kadeem Allen is dealing with a sore left knee.
Freshmen guard Jontay Owens has also been ruled questionable for the Duke game, the sources said.
Sophomore guard Marcus Lee will be out for the third straight game with a hamstring injury.
Freshmans center Alex Poythress is also expected to be sidelined after being diagnosed with a concussion, the team said in a statement.
Junior guard Michael Carter-Williams will miss at most three weeks, the school said.
Senior forward Nick Linder, a 6-foot-9 freshman, has also missed the Duke loss due to a right knee contusion, sources said Saturday.
The Tar Heels have won eight straight games over the Seminoles.
The Tar Heel program is 11-2 against Duke since the start of last season.
Nationally, Duke is 15-3 at home, while the Seminole team is 6-7.NC State’s last loss to Duke came Dec. 3, 2015.
Duke leads the all-time series, 12-5, with the Tar Hees.
