WASHINGTON, D.C. — After a slow start to the season, Oregon State University basketball team finally got rolling on Tuesday.
With the win over Oregon, the Beavers will advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament, where they will face either Kansas or Missouri on Sunday.
With that victory, the No. 7 Beavers are currently in the NCAA Tournament’s second round.
Oregon State had won just one of its last 12 games in February and a 6-4 road loss to Oregon State in the Pac-12 Tournament was its first defeat of the season.
With a win, Oregon will enter the second-round against the No .1 seed in the conference tournament.
The Beavers currently sit in sixth place in the West Division standings.
The Beavers have won seven of their last eight games and have won their last seven at home, winning 10 of their first 11 games.
The last time Oregon State faced the No 2 seed, the Cardinals defeated the No 3 seed, UCLA.
Oregon won the first meeting between the two schools in the 2012 NCAA tournament.
In the previous meeting, Oregon defeated the Beazers 83-78 on Jan. 5, 2012.
This year’s matchup will be played in the same arena.
The game will air on ESPN2 and will be broadcast live on ESPN.
