The Associated Press has released its College Basketball Scores and Final Fours for the 2017-18 season, which was announced Thursday.
This season has been a rollercoaster ride for the UConn women’s hoops team.
The Huskies played the first two games of the season at home against No. 15 Connecticut and No. 7 Boston College.
The two teams met twice at the Thomas & Mack Center, and the Huskies ultimately won both games by an average of 12.3 points.
The Huskies went on to beat both No. 8 Duke and No, 6 North Carolina on the road, and finished the season in fifth place in the Big East Conference standings with a 17-8 record.
UConn also advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA tournament.
Head coach Pat Connelly said the Huskers are now focused on their first-round matchup with No. 6 North Texas.
“We are excited about that,” Connelly told the AP.
“It’s a big challenge, and it’s not going to be easy.
We are not going down without a fight.”UConn also won the ACC tournament for the second straight season.
The Cougars finished with an 8-2 record and reached the second round.
